The government requirement for energy performance certificates (EPCs) on construction, sale or rent of all commercial (non-domestic) buildings is now in force.
Once issued an EPC is valid for 10 years. A commercial (non-domestic) energy performance certificate is issued following a Non-domestic Energy Assessment (NDEA). The certificate may only be issued by an accredited commercial energy assessor.
John Walton, the director of Walton Consultancy UK Limited, is an accredited commercial energy assessor. His accreditation is with Stroma Accreditation Limited. This accreditation requires proof of competence by examination in the use of approved software and methods for gathering information about the assessed building. It also necessitates meeting stringent conditions and complying with the regulations as laid down by the government
